Diosa FAQ
Can I have hair extensions if my hair is very thin?
This really depends on a number of factors and there’s no set answer. Depending on the cause of the thinning hair for example whether it be down to genetics, hormones, medication, chemical damage etc all of which can influence the type of method suitable, if any. For example if you have naturally thin hair you may be a good candidate for micro keratin bonds or mini tapes but this really differs on a case to case basis the example only highlights the different methods which may suit different clients. Your stylist should assess your hair and scalp during your consultation to provide you with a more in depth analysis and resolution.
What’s the difference between single drawn and double drawn hair?
Single drawn hair is popular among the much cheaper hair extensions brands, it represents hair which doesn’t reflect the advertised length all the way through, essentially resulting in hair which is very thin and wispy on the ends. Not only does it provide a disappointing result it can be somewhat a false economy because you need so much more hair for it to appear thick and even then it doesn’t give the same result you get from double drawn hair. This also poses more risk of bonds showing and being obviously visible since you need more hair in to create any effect.
For these reasons Diosa ONLY sells double drawn AND super double drawn hair because thickness is important. We believe in giving people what they pay for which means quality products and results. Over time double drawn hair actually works out more cost effective since it’s better to re-use, you need less hair and it also creates less tension on the clients scalp.
Will hair extensions damage my hair?
If you have had a consultation to discuss any contra-indications resulting in your hair being suitable for extensions then provided you follow the aftercare advice and remove your hair extensions when advised to do so by a professional then no, hair extensions will not ruin your hair. If you do not look after your hair extensions, use incorrect products and do not remove when advised to do so then hair extensions can of course ruin your hair. It all comes down to your commitment, and this is a commitment you make when deciding to have hair extensions, you commit to looking after and maintaining them for the wellbeing of your hair.
